The Meddison Matriarchy: Chapter 1.6 (Bored Jersey Teens)

Hey guys! Sorry for the delay in updates. I am playing a new challenge (which I will also upload pictures for at some point), and kind of got caught up in it. But, no worries, Meddisons you are still my favorite. It's just gonna take me a little more love and time to get through your legacy. 

So for those of you who guessed that Brenden was the one who aged up in the last chapter you were both right......

......and wrong. What actually happened was that I was all excited to be celebrating the first teen grow-up in the legacy and completely didn't notice that Brenden had aged up too. 

Anyway, Copper's up into his teen years, looking fly, wearing that hair like it's in style. (Is it in style? I will only date scraggly-bearded guys who can dig holes and find their way out of the woods with just a pocketknife so I have no sense of men-style. Also, please apply in the comments section). 

"Eh-hem."

Oh, right, where was I? Copper grew up. Cool. He still doesn't want to paint. Whatever. But he did roll the Mansion Baron aspiration (good luck) and the Clumsy trait. (Yeah, good putting that Art Lover trait to use.) With his aspiration comes the Business Savvy trait, which allows a sim to earn more money from his/her career. What are we gonna do with you, Copper?
"Make me heir?"
Awwww honey....no.

Copper might not understand the meaning of the word Matriarchy, but he certainly does like the ladies. I have to admit I am trying really hard not to call him a fat-cat. He looks and acts just like a mobster, even as a teen.

Meanwhile, I'm a little bit sad because Brenden is old.
"What a silver fox!"
Ilana doesn't seem so worried though.

I also think Kylie has picked up on Brenden's age. She keeps coming around to hang out and eat grilled cheese. P.S. Look at my girls, aren't they cute? Copper continues to be best friends with his sisters.

"Dad, the Creator says she's bored and just waiting around for us to do stuff."
"She's just busting your balls honey, just busting your balls."
Am I though?
Because even you guys can't stay awake.....

*Crickets*

But, as boring as things may seem, I do have to admit how cute it is that the whole family likes to hang out with each other. They're always hugging and doing homework/watching TV together.

And now they can all play the computer together! That's right everyone, we can't afford a desk, we can't afford a new chair, but we sure can shell out the little cash we have for a 1991 Apple word processor that barely fits on the kitchen table.

Ilana's not interested, though. She's decided she's going for the Bodybuilder aspiration, so she heads to the gym in her hilarious workout outfit. If you wore that around where I live....someone would probably high-five you, who am I kidding. 

But hey she's gotta look good for all her chicks and men-folk!

Oh thank the Sim-gods the twins have grown up! This is Harper...

....and this is Celeste. Aren't they awesome? So since they grew into teens, I rolled a random die (aka random generator on the Internets) and Harper won heirship. I was kind of hoping she could be my chronicler, but Celeste will be an awesome one instead. I dressed her up like an artist.  (Thanks again CC makers!)

In fact, she's a natural, so I start building her skills up. 

It's so weird, now that the twins are teens, they actually like each other and spend a lot more time together. As kids, they completely ignored each other. Guess they just had to grow into their personalities a little more. By the way, Harper (who already had the Slob and Creatively Gifted traits) rolled Perfectionist trait and received the Quick Learner trait from the Renaissance Sim aspiration. Celeste (neat trait already) rolled the Materialistic trait and inherited the Gregarious trait from the Friend of the World aspiration. 

Ok, look, I'm into big girls, for real. I'm a bigger gal myself, but I've never used the Lean potion in the game before. So I thought, since my twins are a little heavier, let's see what happens. 

And it totally backfired. I mean, she is super hot (aren't all Sims/human metaphors), but I wish she had just a tiny more meat on her bones. Celeste doesn't seem too happy herself. 

"Where did my tits go?"

Yeah, girl, I know. Don't worry, though, you'll always be perfect to me. 

Lesson: Only use the lean potion if you want them to be super thin. 

It does get me to questioning about the potion that makes sims bigger.......

The MM: Chapter 1.5 (From Whiskey with Hugs)

Hi everyone! Welcome back to the Meddison Legacy!

When we last left off, Ilera was done with the third part of her Aspiration (sorry I think I said second in the last chapter, but it's really the third). She finished kissing 10 people, and now she needs to have eight steady relationships and three gold dates, which will probably be with her lovely husband, Branden. 

"You rang?"

You're highlighted for some reason, Branden. 

"Maybe because I'm great?"

Maybe because you're constantly buzzed off your ass. 

Branden needs to get to the Mixology part of the Culinary career, so he makes tons of drinks and leaves them all over the house. Because whiskey is my favorite drink, I've decided all alcoholic drinks in this game are whiskey or bourbon. 

He and Ilera are drunk a lot of this chapter. 

"How else am I supposed to make four more steady relationships with strangers?"

(Remember she already is going steady with Kylie, Geoffrey, and Bella, and she's married to Branden)

Well, you're cute, I'm sure you'll be fine.

"Hi, Dan Edwards. I know we've only been talking for three simseconds, but do you want to go steady with me?"

Oh, I'm sure Dan wouldn't mind that you're asking out another guy the same day, it's all cool.

Turns out, though, that this guy wants nothing to do with Ilera after he kisses her. 

Damn you, sim Karma. Three to go.

Oh yeah, forgot to show you! The girls grew up!

Harper, easily my favorite of all the kids, gets the slob trait and the Artistic Aspiration.

Celeste gets the neat trait and the Rambunctious Aspiration. Isn't that cute? The twins rolled opposite traits.

Branden is making more bourbon and SimSodas. The girls love doing their homework right at the bar and talking to him about stuff. Guessing from his face, I'd say Branden is getting into something philosophical.

Copper and the two girls get along great. It's strange because the girls don't really seem to like each other very much, but Copper is already good friends with both of them. And see those drawings in the background? Thought those were Copper's?

Nope, they were this girl's. Harper loves the activity table, and *spoiler* will probably be the only kid in this generation to finish an Aspiration.
"I drew my first monster!"

Ilera immediately goes for this woman, whose hair I totally love. Her name is Christian Potts, which is also an awesome name. Christian is a stay-at-home mom, but also apparently single.

I finally bought the expansion packs and stuff packs for Sims 4 (got a raise at my job!), so there are some great new things that I will introduce to this matriarchy during the next generation.

Getting out of the house for romance also has other advantages.

In the Sims 3, all my legacies sort of turned into sexless marriages once the potential heirs were born.  But this is not happening with these two lovebirds. They autonomously do romantic stuff all the time. And since Ilera needs three gold dates to complete her Aspiration. She and Branden make that super easy.

I'm sure you guys have seen this man in the game before. He's Jesse Harms, and he literally has the same face as Branden. But he's super cute, so Ilera nabs him. Only one more person to go steady with before she  is done with her Aspiration!

I have to admit that I love Celeste too. She's sort of a quiet character, and she spends a lot of time cleaning, but her little outfits make me laugh.

The poor thing also gets embarrassed a lot so she hides in her bed sometimes to make her mood better.

"Hey son, this isn't an alcoholic drink. right creator?"
*winks at me*
Um...dude, you're not fooling anyone.

Really, seriously, why are all the grownups always drinking?
"We don't mind, we're learning habits!"
Bad, Celeste, bad.

Harper's face says, 'I'm great with the macaroni art and I know it!'

Ilera finishes her Aspiration by snagging that guy from the gym who didn't want to go steady before. Oh really, Mr. Huntington III? Looks like you wanted it all along. Yay!!!! One Aspiration down. What should I spend the points on? Never Weary sounds good.

Not only does Ilera finish her Aspiration, but Branden brings home some money and I give the kid's room a little update. I also get Harper a violin and she completes her own Artistic Prodigy Aspiration!

Celeste is too busy cleaning to care about dumb little things like Aspirations.

Wait, what, a birthday cake? Who's getting older? Looks like you'll just have to wait for the next chapter to see.......

The MM: Chapter 1.4 (Death and Kisses)

Welcome back to the Meddison Matriarchy :) 

When we last left off, two little girls were born to the family. 

Meet Harper and Celeste Meddison! Be forewarned that I'm really bad at taking good pictures of Sim babies. Even when sims had babies that could leave the baskets, I was never really able to capture their subtle facial movements.....or whatever.....lol Actually, the truth is that I hate taking pictures of babies so they will be few and far between. 

This is the best baby picture and I'm not even kidding. 

Hi Branden!

"Hi legacy builder. Thanks for the kids!" 

Branden loves being a dad. Sure he's mostly just mixing drinks next to them, but he definitely loves them. 

While Dad drinks, Mom flirts.

"Dayum, Bella, looking good. Wanna be my ninth kiss?"

"Sure do. Uh...maybe finish that hot dog first."

Mom joke. 

But before Ilera can finish her hot dog and get the kiss which will finish the second tier of her Aspiration, some shit goes down in the park.

"Death, pleeeeeeze save this man. I am trying to impress the hottest girl in the neighborhood, and he's standing right over there. I will totally owe you one."

*Deep, scraggly, death voice* "Oh, dude, of course. Picking up chicks is hard."

And thus, Ilera becomes a hero in the park. 

"Cheer up, Bella my love. I saved that guy and now everything's ok."

This smooth talking not only gets a kiss, but an invite home and a reason to go steady. Way to go, Ilera, hooking a sim celebrity!

I will admit that even while Branden drinks and Ilera is getting some booty, they are great parents. They spend all their free time with Copper. He's quite the talkative little tyke. 

As I mentioned before, one of the spares is going to stay in the house and chronicle each generation. I wanted to make the kids room an ode to these artistic endeavors. There's just one problem....

Copper hates painting. 

"I want to go outside!" 

Yeah. This. Every time I want Copper to paint he just mopes around and never gets anything done. Something tells me that he might not be our artistic spare. 

Looks like it's going to be one of you girls. 

Did I mention that I love the breastfeeding interaction? Sounds weird, but I like when sim things are realistic. 

Branden always makes me laugh. Look how happy he is even though he's all slumped over and tired from work. Poor guy takes forever to get promotions. 

"Woah! You're a teen! I was totally hitting on you....time for you to get off my front porch!" 

Sometimes trying to kiss 10 random sims gets a little too real for Ilera. 

But when it goes right, sometimes it goes too right. 

Aw, poor Kylie. She should take heart that she is still the best friend of Ilera and the first girlfriend. 

Once Ilera completes this aspiration, she totally gets the No Jealousy trait, which will be awesome!

Because right now shit's falling apart. 

Now Geoffrey saw Ilera trying to make up with Kylie and got sad. Turns out balancing ten romantic relationships is not the easiest thing to do. 

P.S. Ilera is now on the next tier of her Aspriation. She now needs 3 gold dates and 8 steady relationships. Ugh. 

Also, look at Kylie's face. It cracks me up. She's not buying Ilera's lies. But she gets back into it anyway. She likes Ilera for who she is.

As much as I love Branden, he makes no money. Poor Ilera is constantly running around, trying to get gems and frogs and even lemons. 

And even though I love him, Copper is a little boring. It isn't his fault: we don't have enough money to buy him things to interact with. But he has this really cute thing where he hugs his parents whenever he's left to his own will. 

Ilera is so good at romancing sims. She already has Branden, Kylie, Geoffrey, and Bella as steady relationships. And now she's picked up this guy at the gym: J Huntington III. Isn't he dreamy? He's not a steady relationship yet, but it's only a matter of time as far as Ilera is concerned.
